Her Education our Growth

Her Education our Growth

An advocacy campaign promoting girls’ right to education as a driver of equality and social progress.

Being born as a girl into this world often comes with unjust hurdles. Women have long endured and continue to face various forms of injustice and inequality across cultural, social, economic, religious, and political realms. These inequities have notably impacted their access to education. Yet, education is universally acknowledged as a fundamental human right, where every child deserves access to quality basic education. It serves as a vital tool in alleviating poverty, reducing inequality, and laying the groundwork for a prosperous life. Nowhere is the disparity in education more pressing than in the MENA Region, particularly in Lebanon. Barriers to girls' education have persisted for generations, proving challenging to overcome. Discrimination and abuse against women persist through entrenched traditional practices, stereotypes, and cultural and religious beliefs, leaving women vulnerable and marginalized. This legacy of injustice continues to cast a shadow, particularly across the MENA continent. In an effort to address this issue, the Asfari Institute for Civil Society and Citizenship partnered with NO2TA the Feminist Lab partnered to launch a digital campaign, highlighting the pivotal role of girl’s education in societal development and growth.
