Fighting for Girl’s Education

Fighting for Girl’s Education

An advocacy campaign promoting girls’ right to education and equal opportunities for learning.

Young girls’ education continues to suffer at the hands of patriarchal norms as girls seeking an education are instead condemned to traditional responsibilities that hinder their capacity to flourish. Advocating for this cause girls’, we have produced an animation video about young girls’ education for the Malala Fund that was screened at the Baalbeck International Festival With girls still being urged into child labor instead of completing their education. This video narrates the story of Qamar, a 16-year-old from Baalbeck, who represents girls fighting for their education in the face of the economic, societal, and psychological pressures presented to them. Qamar expressed how girls are pushed to abandon their education in favor of careers such as hairdressing and tailoring. Qamar’s story seeks to stress the right to inclusive education for girls and all through empowerment in a manner that combines art and activism.
